Sherry Li

Founder & CEO

Sherry Li is the Founder & CEO of C-STAR. Ms. Li has over 15 years of global real estate experience in several leading institutions and has been involved in all aspects of real estate.

Before founding C-STAR, Sherry was a Director of the Fosun Group and a core M&A team member. During her tenure, she closed Fosun’s acquisition of Everest Healthcare Properties, a real estate asset management platform. Before joining Fosun, Ms. Li was a seasoned acquisition and portfolio management professional with Rosewood Investment Corporation, where she completed $4 billion in real estate acquisitions and dispositions. Ms. Li was also responsible for a $7 billion portfolio management, including four malls, two office buildings, a 40-asset student housing portfolio, and a 35-asset multifamily development project. Before Rosewood, Ms. Li conducted acquisition and asset management for Chambers Street Properties (NYSE: CSG). Ms. Li began her career at DTZ, working on commercial real estate transactions.

Ms. Li received her master’s degree concentrated in Real Estate from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. She also holds dual bachelor’s degrees in Economics and Urban Planning from Peking University. Ms. Li was also admitted to the Executive Education program (OPM) at Harvard Business School, beginning in May 2024.

Ying Huang

Managing Partner

Ying Huang is a Managing Partner of C-STAR.  

Before C-STAR, Ms. Huang served as Director at Starwood Capital Group based in Greenwich, Connecticut, the second-largest global real estate investment private equity firm. During her nine years tenure in Starwood Capital, she has helped the firm develop and foster a number of strong relationships with investors worldwide — including leading insurance companies, sovereign wealth funds, and wealth managers. In this role, Ms. Huang worked on raising capital on behalf of Starwood's three private investment funds for over $22 billion on equity and seven co-investment vehicles into multifamily, retail, and hotel. In late 2016, she led Starwood's $2 billion hotel portfolio transaction with the largest Asian insurance company, resulting in the most significant equity commitment that Starwood received in its history.

Ms. Huang received a master's degree in real estate from Harvard University, a master's degree in urban planning and urban economics from Seoul National University, and a B.A. from Fudan University.
